The Sisters of St. Francis of Millvale and Pittsburgh Mercy Health System are proud to co-sponsor the NEighborhood Wellness Site, a collaborative ministry that offers holistic, faith-based health care to residents of Millvale and surrounding communities.

Located in the Millvale business district, the NEighborhood Wellness Site, also known as "NEWS," provides health screening, education and counseling to help people who might otherwise not be able to help themselves. Under the direction of Dorothy Mayernik, RN, MSN, a variety of health care services are provided including counseling and education; blood pressure, osteoporosis, stroke and diabetes screenings; and bereavement and diabetes support groups.

In addition to services provided in Millvale, supportive health counseling and education services are available to the community through home visits. Screenings and other educational and health promotion programs are also offered in the community through partnerships with area parishes, congregations and several community high-rise apartment complexes and senior adult centers.

The NEighborhood Wellness Site is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Additional hours vary.
