Our
service is an expression of our love for God and neighbor. Together, we
live and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through our vowed life together,
through our prayer and through our ministry.
Our traditional ministries began in Pittsburgh in teaching
and healthcare. Today, our sisters minister throughout North America and
serve in a variety of capacities in all levels of education, health services,
pastoral ministry, social services and housing, just to name a few.
We are also sponsors of our Millvale Franciscan Ministries,
which extend the spirit of our congregation to the Millvale community
and beyond.
• Change A Heart: Millvale Franciscan Volunteer Program
• Franciscan Health Wellness Ministries
• Spirit of Health mobile wellness unit
• Mt. Alvernia Day Care and Learning Center
• Mt. Alvernia Montessori Preschool
• Mt. Alvernia High School
• Tabor House of Prayer and Tabor Reiki Center
Other ways we continue to reach out to those around us: •

• Scotus Hall at Mount Alvernia
• Portiuncula Foundation
The Franciscan tradition is kept alive by being true to
it while adapting to the ever-changing needs of a culture in a particular
place and in a particular time. By providing ministries in unique and
relevant ways, we commit ourselves to service in the Franciscan tradition
that gives hope where there is despair.
